U-bolts are core fasteners in the power industry.

Overhead Transmission/Distribution Lines (Core Scenario)
Suspension clamp fastening: XGU/CGU suspension clamps use U-bolts to secure steel-cored aluminum stranded conductors of medium and small cross-sections. Paired with saddle plates and insulator strings, these clamps bear the weight of the conductor as well as wind-induced lateral loads. They are suitable for 10kV–220kV transmission lines and require the application of aluminum wrapping tape to prevent damage to the conductor.
Tension clamp anchoring: NLD and other bolt-type tension clamps secure conductors through vertical pressure exerted by U-bolts and friction against the conductor groove. They are used on angle and terminal towers and are suitable for main networks and substations rated up to 110 kV.
Insulator string suspension: Serving as the “first piece” of the pole tower crossarm, it connects the suspension/tension insulator strings to the crossarm. It is available in two types: standard (for 35-110kV distribution networks) and reinforced (with flanges, suitable for high-voltage and heavy-load applications).
Lightning protection wire fixing: Used for suspension assemblies of lightning protection wires on straight-line towers, ensuring the line's lightning protection safety.
Substation and Electrical Equipment Installation
Busbar/Casing Fixing: U-shaped screws + insulating supports are used to secure high-voltage busbars and wall-through bushings, preventing vibration-induced displacement and ensuring compatibility with GIS/transformer outlet terminals.
Cable tray/busbar trunking installation: Secure the cable tray to steel structures or concrete beams, ensuring surface treatment for corrosion protection and proper compatibility with cable-laying projects.
Equipment base anchoring: To secure the bases of equipment such as transformers and switchgear, use high-strength bolts of Grade 8.8 or higher, paired with anti-loosening nuts.
Pole Towers and Structural Supports
Connection between crossarms and tower body: Connect the tower’s crossarms, diagonal braces, and tower body using Q345B/40Cr material with a strength grade of 10.9, and apply hot-dip galvanization for corrosion protection.
Guy wire fittings for anchoring: In guyed towers, the fittings that connect the guy wires to the tower must be compatible with the tension of the guy wires and equipped with double nuts to prevent loosening.
Base embedded part fixing: Secure the tower base to the embedded steel plate to enhance structural stability.
Cable and Pipeline Systems
Cable Fixing: U-shaped screws and conduit clips secure cable terminations and intermediate connectors to the bracket, protecting them from external damage.
Power pipeline fixing: Secure the in-plant water supply and drainage, fire protection, and cooling pipelines. The system is designed to accommodate vibration conditions and must be equipped with rubber pads for vibration damping.
